A teenage girl has been seriously injured after allegedly being hurled from a vehicle while car surfing.

Police allege the 13-year-old was riding on the roof of a grey Mitsubishi Lancer in the car park of Paralowie R-12 School, in Adelaide, with a 16-year-old male at about 10pm on Wednesday.

The boy escaped injury but the girl was rushed to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Adelaide where she remains with serious injuries’.

Officers who arrived at the scene arrested the alleged 15-year-old driver and later charged her with causing harm by dangerous driving and driving unlicensed. 

She has been bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Youth Court on January 7, 2022.

‘Major Crash Officers attended the scene and are investigating the circumstances of the crash,’ South Australian police said.

‘The car was towed from the scene.’
