West Australian Man is fined 800 after breaking into parked


Man who broke into a car by smashing the windscreen just to steal a CHEESEBURGER is caught by cops and ordered to pay an $800 fine

A West Australian man who broke into a parked car to steal a cheeseburger five years ago has been slapped with an $800 fine. 

Patrick Arthur Raymond Councillor appeared in Geraldton Court last Thursday admitting to criminal damage and stealing charges.

The court heard Mr Councillor had smashed a window of a parked car in November 2016, to steal a cheeseburger left on the dashboard, according to Perth Now.

WA Police recovered blood from the scene found belonging to Mr Councillor. 

Defence lawyer Veronica Randall told the court Mr Councillor had no recollection of the five year old incident but had agreed to plead guilty. 

Magistrate Robert Young said Mr Councillor had gone to ‘a lot of effort just for a cheeseburger’ but reiterated that it was a ‘serious’ conviction. 

Mr Councillor was fined $800, suspended for eight months.
