Golfers needed hospital treatment after a pair of large pigs charged on to a course and attacked them.

The animals, thought to be Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs, caused chaos by storming the green and digging holes. 

Club member David Mckidd, 40, said they were first spotted at the Lightcliffe Golf Club in Halifax, West Yorkshire, on Sunday, injuring a man by causing cuts to his leg.

The black pigs returned on Tuesday and hurt a male worker at the site who had attempted to usher them off the nine-hole course

The club was forced to close but has since reopened. 

Both men suffered minor injuries and were treated in hospital for protection against tetanus. 

Another person was reportedly bitten.

After digging a few more holes, the pigs moved themselves on to a nearby road where they were captured by police.
