Britons could be in for a sizzling weekend with temperatures set to reach the same heights as the Costa del Sol at 24C thanks to an African plume sweeping across the UK before thunderstorms hit.
The Met Office said parts of England could see weather in its mid-20Cs but has also warned that wet weather seen during the week is not over.
