Protesters block road outside deportation centre in bid to stop Rwanda flight

Protesters gathered outside an immigration detention centre and lay on the ground in an effort to halt tonight’s first flight transporting UK asylum seekers to Rwanda 

The protest outside Colnbrook Detention Centre in Heathrow comes as a plane expected to take the first group of asylum seekers to Rwanda at 9.30pm tonight appeared at MoD Boscombe Down – with defiant ministers vowing the flight will go ahead even if there is only one person on board.
